July19/ 2017
Italian giants Juventus have completed the signing of goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal on a four-year contract.

Szczesny, 27, has opted to move to Italian champions Juve, where he is likely to be the understudy to Gianluigi Buffon until the 39-year-old retires, which may be at the end of the coming season.

“I’m delighted to be at Juventus. I’ve spoken to Gianluigi Buffon — a true legend of the game,” Szczesny told a news conference. “When you join Juve, it’s because you’ve been chosen. I didn’t hesitate one moment before coming here.

“I’m ready to take on this challenge, Juventus is the best possible choice for my career. I’m 27 years old and I want to win. At this club there’s the right mentality to do so — I hope that we’ll succeed in winning the Champions League.”

The Poland international is no stranger to Italian football having spent the past two seasons on loan at Roma, with whom he made 72 Serie A appearances.
